Accenture’s Technology Vision 2015 Outlines Key Trends in Digital Business

Accenture knows that, in this digital age, “Every Business Is a Digital Business.” With the global acceleration of technology impacting all aspects of life, companies are transforming their business models to leverage advances in social, mobile, analytics and cloud technology.  For nearly 15 years, Accenture has taken a systematic look across the enterprise landscape to identify emerging IT trends that hold the greatest potential to disrupt businesses and industries.

In 2015, Accenture sees pioneering companies reimagining their core businesses for the digital age, stretching their boundaries by tapping into a broad array of other digital businesses and customers. In the Accenture Technology Vision 2015, Accenture details how business leaders are expanding their companies into broader digital ecosystems which aim to shape entire markets and change the way we work and live.

Enterprises find themselves connected to a digital fabric that has the potential to touch all aspects of their business and customer relationships. This fabric has allowed enterprises to connect and scale up, expanding their reach in unprecedented ways by tying them into a global network of businesses, individuals and things. Accenture has identified this incredible network of connections as a signal of a new era in the digital age: the age of “digital ecosystems.” As every business becomes a digital business, they can effect change on a bigger stage by collaborating with companies both inside and outside of their industries as ecosystems rather than individual corporate entities. By mastering the shift from “me” to “we,” these leading enterprises are shaping a new economy—the “We Economy.”

The Accenture Technology Vision 2015 highlights five emerging themes that reflect these shifts among leading digital businesses. These five trends include the development of the “Internet of Me,” the emergence of an “Outcome Economy,” the impact of the “Platform (R)evolution,” an emphasis on “Intelligent Enterprise,” and a “Workforce Reimagined.” Learn more about all of these trends impacting the strategies and operations for organizations worldwide by reading the Accenture Technology Vision 2015.
